A series of watercolour observational paintings were done featuring isolated people in coffee shops. These were later transformed into oil paintings in an attempt to document this new normal and the artist’s experience of it. The figures act as a symbolic stand in for the artist as she is projecting my feelings and mood onto them. This however, does not necessarily mean that the subjects were experiencing their reality in the same way.
